Control4 OS 2.8 expands the lineup of native music services for Control4 smart-home owners.
Control4 Corporation (NASDAQ: CTRL), a leading global provider of smart home solutions, today announced that Pandora, Deezer and TIDAL are now automatically available as part of Control4 HC-250 and HC-800 systems, without requiring additional streaming devices or software, so that everyone in the family can listen to his or her favorite streaming stations throughout the home.
With Control4’s latest software release, OS 2.8, Control4 natively integrates Pandora, a popular music streaming service with over 80 million listeners in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. Control4 also welcomes two more audio-streaming services to its lineup: Deezer, a worldwide digital music streaming service available in over 180 countries; and TIDAL, a subscription service offering high-fidelity, CD sound quality streaming in over 31 countries. These new streaming services, together with streaming services from Rhapsody, Napster and TuneIn that were already native to Control4, provide homeowners with a broad choice of on-demand entertainment as part of their Control4 system.

Control4 OS 2.8 dramatically enhances the way families will enjoy music in the home with the following new capabilities:
-Native integration with streaming music services from Pandora, Deezer, TIDAL, Rhapsody, Napster and TuneIn, all without the need to purchase and install additional hardware or software. The Deezer integration will feature Deezer Premium+ and will be available globally, with the exception of the US for the near term.
-The native streaming experience features a consistent user interface across all services, and adds programming depth to enrich personalization features like playing a family member’s favorite station in the house when they unlock the front door.
-Multiple “favorite” stations can be streamed simultaneously in different rooms throughout the house.
-Native support for Airplay-enabled devices with ShairBridge, which means anyone can share and stream his or her music from iOS smart phones and tablets, or computers running iTunes, to different zones throughout the home.
-A beautiful new My Music experience, with a grid-view that showcases high-resolution cover art for an enhanced browsing experience. A new Details view also displays rich metadata, and there is an improved search feature to help homeowners find their favorite content quickly.
